The Erica Waasdorp Scholarship is available for the 3rd Annual Nonprofit Fundraisers Symposium, providing nonprofit professionals with a chance to expand their expertise, build meaningful connections, and gain valuable insights at one of the sector’s most impactful events. This scholarship is made possible through a collaborative effort to support and empower nonprofit leaders.
The Erica Waasdorp Scholarship reflects our shared commitment to fostering professional growth and innovation in nonprofit fundraising and marketing. Recipients of this scholarship will receive complimentary registration to the Symposium, which will be held March 12-14, 2025, at the Hilton National Mall at The Wharf in Washington, DC.

Scholarship Eligibility
Award recipients must be:
• A nonprofit professional.
• A member in good standing in TNPA or DMAW at the time of application.
How Applications are Selected for Funding
The committee seeks candidates with a strong passion for direct response marketing and fundraising, and a clear desire to enhance their skills through TNPA and DMAW’s educational opportunities.
Key factors in the selection process include:
- Professional Development: Applicants should articulate how attending the Symposium will support their growth and contribute to their organization’s fundraising and marketing goals.
- Leadership Potential: Applicants must have at least 10+ years’ experience and are either in or show promise for leadership positions within their nonprofit organization.
- Financial Need: The scholarship is designed to support those from nonprofits with limited budgets for professional development.
The selection committee carefully evaluates all applications to ensure that the scholarship funds are awarded to those who will benefit most from the opportunity and who are most likely to use the knowledge gained to advance their professional careers and their organizations’ missions.
Conditions of Award
As a scholarship recipient, you agree to share your experience by submitting a blog post within two months of attending the event. Your post will be published on TNPA and DMAW websites, as well as the Nonprofit Fundraisers Symposium site. The award recipient is responsible for all other costs related to attending the event, including transportation and lodging.
